Happily Ever After Events

By October 2015, I had several home made princess costumes. I saw that women around the world were making princess party companies, and decided that it would be a great idea to capitalize on in small town South Western Ontario.

Forming the Business

After I had a decent repertoire of costumes together, I needed to start marketing in order to get my business out to the world. I made a logo and a Facebook page, then I went to local "Ask" and "Buy" groups and promoted the page. Due to the nature of the company -(in-person interactions which require some travelling) I targeted mothers in and around my home town.

I wanted my logo to demonstrate the branding of the company, which highly relies on the feeling of magic. Both designs feature stars and princess themes to convey this. In the second logo, I not only wanted to show off the princess aspect, but also the idea of celebration using the balloon.

I uploaded as many pictures as I could, but something was missing. I quickly realized that I didn't have pictures from events and reliable reviews. To help start up the business, I decided to give my first party away for publicity. Through doing this I received event photos and valuable affirmations which could be used for promotions.

Becoming Known

I started to get hired for more and more parties but was still looking to increase brand awareness. I started volunteering at community events where I eventually became a paid attraction which was listed on flyers. I had become the princess of Watford, and now do many parties in communities across South Western Ontario including Sarnia, Thedford, Strathroy, Arkona, St. Thomas, and Forest. I even got the opportunitiy to volunteer at the London Children's Hospital for their Teddy Bear Picnic.

Moving Forward

As the company continues to develop and change I hope to continue to make children's dreams come true through positive interactions and fun activities. In doing this I will continue to develop my entrepreneurial skills.
